The story of the place
The cathedral of the Greek Catholic Eparchy was built in 1800–1810, begun by Bishop Ignațiu Darabant and completed by Bishop Samuil Vulcan, in a classicising Baroque style. The tower burned in 1836 and 1907; the present spire was rebuilt after the 1907 fire.
