On the tower, a sphere one metre in diameter turns to show the phases of the Moon, driven by a mechanism installed in 1793.

The Orthodox church was built between 1784 and 1790 to plans by the architect Jakab Éder, in late Baroque style with neoclassical elements. The tower houses the mechanism installed in 1793 by the Viennese clockmaker Georg Rüppe, which rotates a sphere 1 m in diameter and shows the phases of the Moon.
